Each size fits a standard lamp base.
All lampshade measurements listed online are in the format: Top Width x Bottom Width x Height.
For example, a shade listed as 40 × 45 × 29 would have:
Top Width: 40 cm
Bottom Width: 45 cm
Height: 29 cm
